Say what!?

Recently my husband and I were in a very sticky situation. We came to the defense of someone we dearly love. In doing so, we took the verbal pressure off one and planted it straight upon ourselves. We were left feeling stunned and stung at the same time.

After a couple of days of feeling like we were verbally “B” slapped, tensions calmed down and relationships restored, I got to thinking heavily, how interesting it is that one’s actions for good, can be completely wiped clean because of poisonous words.

Is that possible?! Yes, because most people encounter in our daily life will never remember what we say, but will always remember how you made them feel. Not going to lie, some words stick around a long time!

The more I thought about it, I realized just how much power we have within us to heal, uplift, inspire, or tear down and destroy. Who knew our mouths had so much influence!

I was reading my scriptures the other day, and came across a few verses that really stuck.

Proverbs 4:24. Put away from thee a froward mouth, and perverse lips put far from thee.

Proverbs 6:17,19. A proud look, a lying tongue, and hands that shed innocent blood (you get the picture on this one)

A false witness that speaketh lies, and soweth discord among brethren.

And lastly, Proverbs 15, it’s too long to write out, but really worth reading! I think these bible verses are telling us how important it is to the Lord, that we, his children, speak with love and tenderness.

So, I have decided to start with myself, to use my words for good, to help, inspire and cheer! Starting within your own home is where all change begins❤️

Oh yeah, Watch your mouth!!

Oh Hello!

All my life I’ve been attracted to all things pretty, or things that make me feel pretty.

As a young girl, it was clothes, make up, and anything that attracted my sense of Beauty or what I thought was beautiful.

As I’ve grown up, had kids, and now grandchildren, I have come to know or most importantly come to feel, that all things “Pretty” is more of a feeling than something that I can physically hold on to.

Here’s the zinger! Pretty and beautiful is a state of mind, much like being “popular.”

What is pretty or beautiful to me, could be vastly different of what that means to you.

What is beautiful to you?

Here is a small list of what truly beautiful things are to me:

  1. The moment when I get a FaceTime call from my kids, and I hear a sweet little voice on the other end saying “Hi Gigi!”
  2. A mid day phone call from my husband Ron, just to tell me “have I told you today how beautiful you are?” Yes, my heart melts!
  3. Waking up in the morning to the kitchen perfectly clean.
  4. When Spring arrives and I hear the birds tweet for the first time.
  5. Having my family home (all of us) and we are all getting along

My list continues, but until then Stay Happy!
